35 Years, Day 275

Holy cow! I did not realize I hadn’t written in a week. I really need to keep this up 20181002_201319_resizedbecause even if I don’t do my checklist perfectly when I write here most days, it is still keeping me honest and keeping me motivated. The last few days were the first days in a long time that I didn’t do any exercise for two days in a row. Today I made up for it by doing 50 minutes of yoga; a balancing yoga routine, and a flexibility workout. I realized I can properly do the splits on one side today! I’m innately flexible and was close when I started doing yoga but I wasn’t there. I think my back leg might not be perfectly aligned in this picture, so even if this isn’t the most perfect set of splits, its the most perfect that I’ve ever done them.

Energy Checklist

◊ I got enough sleep last night. Yes but I’ve been staying up too late on the internet.
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). No, I’ve been forgetting.
◊ I ate breakfast. Shredded wheat with milk and banana slices on top, and a coffee/milk concoction.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. No… five glasses of liquid today I think.
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. Recess with the kiddos!
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive.I actually decided to go to a counselor and signed up with someone; my first appointment is October 24. Long story short… my brain in my teens/twenties was… frenetic. I had eating disorders and blackout drinking patterns going on for many, many years. I quit drinking in 2009 but I still carry feelings of guilt/shame around from those years. I think I’ve put some things in a box in my brain and never properly worked through them and I’d like to, because I’m tired of thinking about some of the things I think about.
◊ I connected with someone. Just my hubby.
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. Ummm… yoga?
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. Yes, all the yoga!
◊ I only went on the internet between six to eight PM: I’ve been terrible lately. I’m trying to find a free standing rig for hanging an aerial hammock but they are really expensive.
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) I will do tonight!
