35 Years, Day 243

Library Sex EdToday I talked about sex-education, puberty, and mental health with the seventh graders in the library! They were actually pretty well behaved; the younger kids in the afternoon (who I did NOT discuss sex-ed with, lol), were not so well behaved… they were ready to be done with school after the first full week.

Energy Checklist

◊ I got enough sleep last night. Yes. The cat woke me up a few minutes before my alarm, tapping my face.
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). No I forgot.
◊ I ate breakfast. Shredded Wheat and Raisin Bran mixed together, along with coffee and milk.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. I’m at six right now with the cup of tea I’m drinking.
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. Just recess with the kiddos; I make the naughty ones stick by me and do a few minutes of yoga; it’s not that much of a punishment though, we usually attract other kids that weren’t being naughty.
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive. Yes for the most part… The rowdy kids at the end of the day got me down; I tend to take it too personally and think it’s all my fault for not being good enough at classroom management. However, did I tell “Exhibit A for Naughtiness” to make faces at his classmates, rock back on two chair legs, stick his arms, legs, and head inside his t-shirt, hide in the back of the library, and bang his hands on the table when I put him in time out? No I did not!
◊ I connected with someone. Hmm… the health teacher that brought her class to the library!
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. I started a new book, Fitness Junkie by Lucy Sykes and Jo Piazza.
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. Well, yesterday I did do a half hour of yoga in the evening, practicing crow pose (in which I fell on my head), so I haven’t taken a day off in a few weeks. I’m pretty tired this evening, I think today is a day off. Aerial yoga tomorrow!
◊ I only went on the internet between six to eight PM: I’m late. But I didn’t start til 7:40!
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) I did last night, and will do tonight!
