35 Years, Day 233

Today was another long day at school; the kids come back tomorrow. I’m busy setting up my library because we were going to be moving schools but now we aren’t quite yet! I’m also going to have a “free book sale” with books I wasn’t planning to take to the new school where “free will donations” can be made, or not, in exchange for books. Whew! Busy start to the year! I’ll take a picture at the “free book sale” for my blog tomorrow.

Energy Checklist

◊ I got enough sleep last night. No!! I was coughing and hacking when I lay down, so I slept in the other bedroom after awhile so as not to disturb my husband. Also, my mind was whirring about the new school year.
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). Yes.
◊ I ate breakfast. Shredded Wheat and Raisin Bran mixed together, along with coffee and milk.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. No!! I had my coffee/thermos and that’s literally it today. I did bring my thermos of water to school but I forgot about it. Some of these self-care things are falling by the wayside as I get back to the school routine. I will try again tomorrow!
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. I sat outside with my cat for about ten minutes after work… that’s it.
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive. Yes for the most part.
◊ I connected with someone. Just chitchatting with people at school here and there.
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. Tonight I’m going to continue with my current book, “Maeve in America.”
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. Well, I consider re-shelving boxes and boxes of books working out, but I do plan to do some yoga yet tonight as well.
◊ I only went on the internet between six to eight PM: Yes! It’s been good so far, having the work day fill up much of the day makes it easier. The real test will be this weekend. Tomorrow is a really long day with back-to-school night; I’ll need to go on the internet more like 8:30 – 9:00 tomorrow.
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) I did last night and will do tonight!
