35 Years, Day 231

Today I talked with my husband and we are going to enforce the “internet only between six and eight P.M.” rule together. I miss the time when the internet didn’t exist – at least in its current, omnipresent form. When I was a kid, everyone watched the evening news to get the news. We had to get up the nerve to call someone on the phone if we wanted to talk to them (and it wasn’t that scary. Unless it was a boy you liked. Then you got halfway through dialing the number to his Mom’s house multiple times before actually calling… or not.) Now the internet is just… omnipresent. And it’s all shock value headlines. And I’ve always hated shock value! And it’s all memes aimed at democrats talking about how hateful and terrible conservatives are, and memes aimed at conservatives talking about how liberals are all brainwashed snowflakes, and… I’m just tired. I miss living in a house without the internet, which is how I lived until 2008. So I talked with my hubby and we are going to follow the 6 – 8 PM rule together. If we think of something we want to look up on the internet, we’ll just have to write it down and wait.

Energy Checklist

◊ I got enough sleep last night. Nope, after I made my blog last night I went down a rabbit hole looking for books to buy for the school library.
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). No, I forgot.
◊ I ate breakfast. Shredded Wheat and Raisin Bran mixed together, along with coffee and milk. Ah ha! There is stability.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. I was dehydrated this morning and downed a glass of water right away, and two cups of coffee/milk… two cups of water during a hike at a state park… hmm that’s only five. I just got up and filled my thermos. Will be six/seven shortly.
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. My hubby and I went for a walk at the state park. My phone was at two percent or I would have taken a picture!
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive. I was still a little grouchy today. But I’m glad I talked to my husband about the internet thing! It feels like a step in the right direction.
◊ I connected with someone. Just my hubby.
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. I had some pumpkin pie flavored ice cream at the park. It was delicious!
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. A thirty minute walk, and twenty minutes of yoga. I tried the crow pose again and held it longer but my upper arms are getting sore where my knees dig in, ha ha.
◊ I only went on the internet between six to eight PM: No but starting tomorrow shits going to get real!
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) I forgot last night. But I will do tonight!!
