35 Years, Day 211

Today was more of the same, considering that we are on summer vacation and free!! However, I do feel as though I’m getting some more mindful and healthy habits going now  that will carry me into the school year. I’ll be able to continue Aerial Yoga on Saturdays, and on Sundays my hubby and I plan to go to the state park for Yoga (me), and Running (him) for as long as possible, until it gets too cold and/or snows a bunch. Last year I fell off the bandwagon of this blog on August 31; however there were extenuating circumstances; the main one being that I was taking two online grad school classes in addition to my job last fall. This fall I will just be working 8-4 so I’ll have my evenings free.

Energy Checklist
◊ I got enough sleep last night. Yes! I really did last night. I did a better job of starting my wind down about nine, did my bedtime stretch and worry journal, read a bit, and also took a half dose of Excedrin p.m. I don’t want to make a habit of that last bit, but I’ve had a terrible time getting to sleep lately, so everything helps.Water Bottle
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). Yes
◊ I ate breakfast. Cup of coffee and peanut butter wrap on the way to the State Park.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. I am downing this thermos of water right now so I can be at seven. The best I’ve done! Well seven cups of liquid; two cups coffee/milk, a cup of decaf, and four glasses of water.
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. Yes, my hubby and I went to the state park again where I did yoga and he went for a run. There was a colony of prairie dogs next to me that seemed to be doing yoga too!
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive. Somewhat. I’ve  been trying to be proactive, doing what I can and letting go of the rest. For example, I’m going to a family reunion this weekend and I have a little anxiety about it. I’ve done the planning that I can to alleviate that, and now I just have to let go and assume the best!
◊ I connected with someone. Just my hubby, and emailed my grandma. But tomorrow our friend is driving up to see us, so that will be good!
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. Continued my Kristan Higgins novel. I am 350 pages in, I will finish tonight or tomorrow.
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. Yes about an hour and fifteen minutes. About 20 minutes of yoga at the park, about 20 minutes of a Zumba routine at home, and 30 more minutes of yoga doing a 14 day challenge on Amazon Prime. I had hardly dabbled in yoga before this summer, and this is the most I have ever exercised. I guess you just have to find what is right for you! My huband and I are complete opposites. He will do cardio all day, and I hate the intense stuff because I hate the feeling of my lungs burning and being short of oxygen. But I’m a lot more flexible than him, and will hold a yoga pose until I’m sweating and my muscles are burning; something he hates the feeling of. Put us together and we would be unstoppable!
◊ I only went on the internet between six to eight PM: Not too bad but I am constantly checking Facebook. Like I don’t stay online but I compulsively check my phone way too much.
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) I did it last night and will do before bed. So far one of the things that this blog has helped me with is getting a better night time ritual going, and documenting how awful I feel when I don’t have a proper routine.
