A new chapter begins! For the next several weeks I’m committed to at least filling out my Energy Checklist from Denise Austin’s book, and to checking in here every day. The school I work at starts back up in three weeks so now is the time to start getting some regular routines going again!
◊ I got enough sleep last night. Yes. I read a bit before I went to sleep and the lights were out by eleven. I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately. I tend to have a lot of doomsday thoughts at night. This is worse when I stay up too late and try to go to bed at twelve-thirty or one. I need to re-develop a routine for going to bed, which may include a cup of tea, a book, and a journal for writing down my thoughts before turning out the lights!
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). No, did not start that yet.
◊ I ate breakfast. Done; I’ve been eating the same thing almost every morning lately, a big wheatbix, raisin bran over the top of that, with milk, and a cup of coffee.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. No. Didn’t start that today; I did drink coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon, a glass of milk and I’m drinking some bubbly water right now. So maybe four glasses of liquid total.
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. Yes! My hubby and I went hiking for about an hour.
◊ I did my afternoon Energy Shot stretch (detailed in book). Did not do this. I’m going to take this part out and add it back when when I start back to work.
◊ If I caught myself slouching or slumping, I corrected my posture. I’m also going to take this out and add it back in in three weeks for work.
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive. I forgot about some of the things on this list! I will try tomorrow.
◊ I connected with someone. I emailed my Uncle, went hiking with my hubby, and texted with my neighbor.
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. I usually read but there is not a book I’m super into right now. I have a bunch on hold at the library! I did yoga.
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. Yes, I hiked and also I did yoga for about 40 minutes. This is a new thing that I have been doing for about six weeks now, this summer. Including an Aerial Yoga class I found that I’ve been attending twice a week; that will go down to once a week when school starts.
◊ I only went on the internet from six to eight PM: This isn’t in Denise’s book; I added it in. I did not obey this at all today!
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) I will do this this evening!
