Day 13

Well, it seems that I am pregnant for the first time! This is not a shock, because we were trying, but it is a shock, because we’d been trying for a year. I just had a test done which was very painful, to see if my Fallopian tubes were blocked. It was very painful and the doctor said he used a lot of pressure to force dye through my tubes. That can mean that they WERE partially blocked, and having the test done could actually make it easier to get pregnant. I’m going to guess that it helped, because we got pregnant on the very next try. My period is only a few days late so it doesn’t feel real.  My period has been this late before, but I ovulated early this time, and two pregnancy tests have confirmed it.

I’m not going to tell anyone for a bit because I know that if a miscarriage is going to happen, it is likely to happen early. I thought I would be excited! But mostly I’m surprised, confused, and a little nervous that it has actually happened.

So I think what I will do is keep going with the blog, posting the “Today’s Personal Energy” report, because that is all good things to be doing. On days that I’m up to it, I’ll add in advice I took from Denise’s book, and maybe a little from “What to Expect when you are Expecting.”

I guess this blog has to stay a secret for awhile!! Seems I have only one loyal reader right now anyway.


When you Wake Up: Morning Energy Questions
◊ What will I look forward to today? 
Still being pregnant? Oh my goodness.
◊ What pleasure will I add to my day? 
Eating at our favorite Thai restaurant.

I will bond with my husband over this new experience we find ourselves in.

During the Day: Energy Checklist
◊ I got enough sleep last night. Not really, I couldn’t get to sleep and the cats were waking us up. I’m still trying to sort out a routine for going to bed so I can get enough sleep.
◊ I energized with my morning stretch (detailed in book). Done
◊ I ate breakfast. Done; Total with blueberries and milk, with a little bit of coffee and a lot of milk and sugar.
◊ I drank eight glasses of water. I think I did drink this today.
◊ I got outside for some fresh air and sunshine. I walked on the track again.
◊ I did my afternoon Energy Shot stretch (detailed in book). Not today.
◊ If I caught myself slouching or slumping, I corrected my posture. Remembered as I typed this.
◊ If I caught myself in a negative thought, I turned it positive. My mind is a little crazy today with the news; I’m worried about an early miscarriage but trying to breath deeply and not stress.
◊ I connected with someone. Just my husband today!
◊ I did something fun or relaxing, just for me. I read a book all morning. A book about a teenage girl named Flora that has amnesia.
◊ I worked out for thirty minutes or more. Yes, I walked on the track.
◊ I only went on the internet from six to eight PM: Not entirely, but I wasn’t on the internet too much today.
◊ I did my bedtime stretch (detailed in book.) To be done this evening about ten p.m.
